Obama Speaks Truth About Families on Father’s Day

I’ve long held the view that Daniel Patrick Moynihan was unjustly vilified for his scholarly discussion — published over four decades ago — arguing that pathologies in the black community were at least partially responsible for the plight of the black “underclass.” At the time, one could not raise such issues without being labeled a racist. I choose atomization

Human are social animals and I think it is an illusion to think that we can ever be, or would ever want to be, completely free of others. However, I think that as societies we can choose how to structure that obligation. When we talk about freedom on this blog, it is usually in relation to the state. But the truth is freedom from tradition and family obligations can be just as important.
