Another of Jim’s Occasional Primary Prediction Posts

(posted by Jim Henley)

My system is very simple: assume the winner does no worse than her advantage in already-decided voters in the latest RCP average. On that basis, I’ll call for Obama by 8 in NC and Clinton by 7 in Indiana. On Wednesday, Clinton will have gained no ground in the delegate count, Obama will have stopped his short, post-Wright losing streak, and Clinton and the media will still be demanding to know why "Obama can’t close the deal" rather than demanding to know why Clinton can’t make up any ground on him, and how she ever lost the lead to a Boojie neophyte in the first place if she’s all that.

By the by, I listened to the audio feed of MSNBC’s "Race to the White House" this evening on the way home, and man was the spin pro-Hillary.

Exactly what to you mean by “Boojie?” I’m not familiar with the term, but it doesn’t sound complimentary. Just curious.

Hi Randron: “Boojie” is used mostly within the African-American community as slang for a “bourgeios” black person. It was flippant-to-disparaging originally. Like most slang terms it ends up, I think, bearing a fair load of irony and reflexiveness. For instance, in this case it’s being used by me, pretty much an Obama shill, in faux deprecation.

Thanks, Jim. I looked it up online in the Urban Dictionary. It wasn’t as bad as I imagined and given your explanation, I take no offense as I, too, am an Obama supporter!
